Orchestra

Hiring for the 2021 OIO Orchestra and Instrumental Academy are nearly complete.  Repertoire for 2021:  Massenet’s Cendrillon, Donizetti’s Lucia Di Lammermoor and Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

The Opera in the Ozarks Orchestra consists of young professional musicians from across the country. The instrumentalists enter fully into the artistic and social life at The Point.  From May 26 to June 20 orchestra members serve as the faculty for the inaugural Instrumental Academy at Inspiration Point.  Opera rehearsals begin June 22 but after the three main stage operas have opened, opportunities for chamber music,  practice and relaxation abound.  Due to the limitations required due to the COVID-19 pandemic the size of the 2021 Orchestra will be reduced.

For 2022, the review of applications will begin February 1 and positions will be  available until the table reflects otherwise.  Positions will remain open until filled but most offers and decisions will be made by April 1.

To apply please send all materials as attachments to orchestra@opera.org.
