Hiring for the 2020 Orchestra will begin in January. Repertoire for 2020: Massenet’s Centrillon, Donizetti’s Lucia Di Lammermoor and Ward’s The Crucible.
The Opera in the Ozarks Orchestra consists of professional and advanced student musicians from across the country. The instrumentalists enter fully into the artistic and social life at The Point. After the intense preparation period and the three main stage operas have opened, opportunities for chamber music, chamber orchestra, practice and relaxation abound.
Rehearsals begin Sunday, June 7 and the final performance is Friday, July 17. Orchestral musicians receive room and board for the entire session and a stipend.
The orchestra comprises 7 violins, 3 violas, 2 celli, 1 bass. 2 flutes, 1 oboe, 2 clarinets, 1 bassoon, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone and 1 percussion. Below is a list of available positions for the 2020 Season. Applications for these vacancies will be accepted after January 15, 2020. People’s plans do change, so if you are interested in a position for which there is no current opening, please send a résumé to firstname.lastname@example.org. The review of applications will begin February 15. Positions are available until the table reflects otherwise, so apply! Positions will remain open until filled but most offers and decisions will be made by April 15.

- A list of opera, operetta, musical theatre works performed
- YouTube posts (preferred) DVD or CD recording of 4-5 standard orchestral excerpts and one page of a concerto or other solo.
- The names of three references which we may contact about your work. One should be your major teacher and orchestra conductor if still or recently a student.
