News & Features - Elderhostel Program

A popular Elderhostel Program is a trip to Eureka Springs to attend the Opera in the Ozarks season performances. Below is material from their website about the 2007 season program. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience in our 2008 season.

Attend three fully-staged productions of some of the world's best-loved operas during the 57th season of Opera in the Ozarks. Featuring outstanding young artists and a professional orchestra, this has been rated as one of the top 10 summer opera festivals in America. Go behind the scenes with superb young singers, their mentors, directors, and other professional opera staff to learn about the audition process, singing, staging, conducting, art direction, costume and set design. Enjoy pre-performance opera lectures given by the cast before each opera. These young artists are carefully chosen through auditions to participate in the festival. In the near future, when their careers are blossoming, you will be glad you saw and heard them here first!

Study and attend performances of 3 operas. Evening performances held in rustic outdoor, covered venue.

Program in association with University of Arkansas/Fayetteville.
